| Front bow stance. Feet shoulder width apart from side to side and about 11/2 shoulder widths apart from front to back. Front knee bent. 70% weight on the front leg, 30% weight on the back leg. Front knee must not extend past the toes as this position could put pressure on the knee and damage it. |

| “T” stance (empty stance). Stand 80% weight on either leg, main supporting foot flat on the ground. The other foot stands on its ball with the heel raised, this foot takes about 20% of body weight. |

| Roll back stance. Bend the back knee placing about 70% of body weight on the back leg/foot and 30% body weight on the front foot. Both feet flat on the ground. |
