Chi gong & Tai chi can both help to synchronize the left and right hemispheres of the brain (study below for further info).
Stroke therapy: first understanding brain functions| The right side of the brain controls functional movement on the left side of the body. If you wiggle your left toes the electrical impulse comes from the brain's right hemisphere. |
The corpus callosum connects the left and right sides of the brain for communication purposes. |
The left side of the brain controls functional movement on the right side of the body. If you wiggle your right fingers the electrical impulse comes from the brain's left hemisphere. |
Between the two hemispheres of the brain is a thick bundle of nerves called the corpus callosum that shuttles information from one side of the brain to the other for communication purposes.
This means that processes that happen in the right side of the brain are moved constantly to the left side of the brain and visa versa so that the brain hemispheres can work as one and this can create a residual memory imprint of what happens in the right hemisphere in the left hemisphere and visa versa
Please note: if the brain has epilepsy or is damaged by trauma causing seizures the corpus callosum in some cases is cut (known as a commissurotomy) and communication of the left and right side of the brain stops. This causes a cessation of the seizures because the damaged side of the brain cannot communicate its seizure to affect the healthy side of the brain. The down side to this is communication between the two brain hemispheres is lost. The lost communication of the hemispheres led researchers to the discovery of what each side of the brain did as shown below.

The chart above can help map which side of the brain is affected by the mental functions that have been lost or impaired by a stroke victim.
A stroke in the left side of the brain can affect speech, use of numbers, how time works and constructing an argument etc. Movements on the right side of the body is affected
A stroke or bleed in the right hemisphere of the brain can cause difficulties with expressing feelings, doing puzzles, the ability to use the imagination etc. Movements on the left side of the body is affected.
Smooth communication between the left and right hemispheres of the brain creates an environment of harmony and cooperation which produces a supportive oneness of the mind this allows each hemisphere to do what it is best at doing.
If you know someone who has had a stroke and the left side of their body movement is affected and they cannot understand metaphors/stories, follow a map, have trouble with evaluating the distance between objects, can not grasp the essence of games or read/express body language then the cerebral accident they have had has been in the right hemisphere.
Tai chi & Chi gong are good exercise and meditation therapies to help improve brain function
Brain echo therapy: (click for therapy page)
Brain echo therapy is a new concept developed by Robin Guy to help clients who have suffered an aneurysm or blockage in the arteries causing a stroke.
How it works:
When the brain has a stroke it is usually only on one side this can have a dramatic effect on the mental and motor functions of the mind and body depending on the location of the cerebral accident.
This can have a dramatic effect on the spirit.
The main cause of a cerebral accident tends to usually be an aneurysm (ballooning of an artery wall caused by arterial pressure and a weakness of the arterial wall at the point of the balloon), or a Thrombosis (a blood clot formed in a blood vessel causing an obstruction to the blood flowing through the body. the blockage can break free to become an embolism), or an embolism which is the blockage of an artery caused by a piece of debris, possibly a fragment of a blood clot or other material traveling in the circulation.
A blockage or a burst blood vessel in the brain will starve the part of the brain which the vessel feeds of oxygen.
The brain is very sensitive to oxygen starvation and usually some damage to the brain is a common factor.
Treatment: for a cerebral accident or stroke using echo therapy is based on stimulating the latent memories that have been stored in the healthy side of the brain and re-educating the damaged part of the brain to bring about as much pre-stroke normal functioning as possible using alternative therapy techniques to complement any allopathic treatment the victim is either having or has had.
Brain echo techniques:
Acupuncture/acupressure: can stimulate nerves to release memories, relax and strengthen, tendons, sinews and muscles and promote balanced chi energy.
Essential oils: can encourage activation of memories in the limbic system.
Bio-feedback: to encourage control of body systems through mental concentration (bio-feedback is a type of medical-meditation).
Chi gong exercises to encourage left and right side communication through exercise and chi meditation.
Hypnotherapy: used to access latent memories that are stored in the brain cells for re-training.
