Acupressure and the birthing process

Acupressure points are shown in the booklet and the film to stimulate and the promote strong natural contractions.
According to and in line with Traditional Chinese Medicine using the points shown can help to produce a short and relatively pain free labour (if you use the CD to relax with regularly the subliminal messages mentally prepare you for the birthing process too). One acupressure point you can try during your labor is Hegu Li 4 on the acupressure page.

Exercise
The exercises in the film are shown standing and sitting, each set has been produce to carefully target key areas that affect the body during pregnancy without being load bearing on the pelvis and joints or excessively wearing out the exerciser, the exercises are aimed at adding flexibility, strengthening the joints, ligaments
and tendons without having to bend or twist the waist.
This is useful during pregnancy because hormones are released that relax the tendons and joints, these hormones are primarily aimed at the pelvic ligaments, to relax the pelvis and prepare it for the birthing process (so that the pelvis can open up to allow the baby to be born). The exercises if practiced correctly also allow you to keep the pelvic floor muscle in good shape through the use of correct breathing and posture coordinated with the gentle flowing chi gong movements.

Acupressure & pushing hands

The film teaches some very simple acupressure techniques to help relieve back pain and promote positive energy movement throughout the meridians (points of the back shu shown on the acupressure page). Pushing hands training is also a factor for good energy promotion and is excellent for the partner bonding and working together process that can accompany the pregnancy period and beyond. The acupressure should be applied by the birthing partner. The breath of the giver should be coordinate with the breath of the receiver, you can practice breathing together during the push hands exercise (and is fully explained/shown in the film and book). The push hands usually comes before the acupressure whilst the chi gong muscle and tendon exercises comes before the push hands.
The order of the complete exercise is not rigid and it should be left to the pregnant party to decide what exercise is preferable to practice and apply at a given time. The lady who is pregnant should learn to listen to their body and follow what she feels it requires at that time.

Relaxation & subliminal messages Buy the Chipregnancy package
Relaxation should be taken seriously and the music should be listened to regularly as it contains subliminal messages to promote deep relaxation and to help the subconscious cope with giving birth and being pregnant (these subliminal messages are also on the sound track of the DVD). This is helpful as it can induce deep states of relaxation in the mind body and spirit to reduce tensions of any kind during and after pregnancy.

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR STRETCH MARK PREVENTION AND FETAL STIMULATION

Essential oils for you, your growing baby and the delicate skin of your tummy, waist and breasts.
During your pregnancy the skin of the abdomen, waist and breasts become stretched. The skin is very elastic and can stretch a long way, the only problem is, is the skin can only stretch so far before it becomes over-strected.When this happen the skin develops stretch marks that can look unsightly. To help overcome this problem fourseas has professionally developed a essential oils blend that when massaged into the skin on a regular basis can help improve the integrity of the skin cells, helping the cells to become more elastic and supple thus preventing stretch marks were the skin is stretched as the baby grows.

Fetal stimulation
Doctors have known for years that when a baby is born one of the senses that it relies on to recognize and bond with its care giver is the sense of smell. The sense of smell also known as the olfactory system is one of the most important senses developed within the human being. Correct or enjoyable odors can stimulate extreme pleasure for most people, whilst an improper odor can ruin your day and completely put you off of something that was desirable at one time. The Olfactory system works by stimulating a nerve that lies in the nose, this nerve is exposed to the open air and is the only major nerve exposed to the outside world in this way that is directly linked to the brain. Part of the brain that is stimulated by smells and the natural chemicals that are a part of the odor is know as the limbic system or old brain. This part of the brain is where our natural instincts are suppose to be (breathing, feeling protected, running from danger, reflex actions etc.). Its this part of the brain that may affect the baby as you rub in the oils on your tum to help prevent stretch marks. The oils affect the baby because the natural chemicals you are rubbing in enter the blood stream and through the blood stream the baby is exposed to the essential oils natural properties. The oils also can promote a bonding stimuli for the baby after its is born (its advisable to still put the oils on the abdominal skin up to a week after birth), because the baby's memory may be triggered to recognize the oils scent that you have worn during the pregnancy.
